Bootcamp lost after 10.10.3 update - how to recover? (with pastes)

Same as with other people, bootcamp gone after 10.10.3 update. I tried to solve it but couldn't... Any help appreciated. Seems based on the forum posts that this is fairly easy to solve as long as you know what to do (and what numbers to input into right places). Here is the information, maybe you would know how to solve this please?

You can start with Testdisk and get GPT Fdisk also, in case it is needed. In most 10.10.x updates prior to 10.10.3, the issue manifested itself when a gap between GPT3 and GPT4 was visible. This was due to multiple 'live' NTFS headers on disk, causing Yosemite to move the incorrect partition header as the correct. This was related to any resizing attempts with tools which are buggy, including Yosemite DU.

In your case, no such gap is visible, yet your NTFS header is not valid. There are a couple of cases where a recovery was possible, but most such cases fail to be recovered because the damage that Yosemite inflicts is almost irreversible. 10.10.3 recovery update seems to be culprit.

Do you have a backup of Windows that you can restore from? You would also need an OS X backup to be safe.

Please see Bootcamp partition missing after yosemite installation as a reference and start with Testdisk scan.

Thanks for your response. I am away in Spain till 16th April so will look into it once i get back.

Fortunately i only use a 55 Gb Windows partition on my retina pro flash drive, with a Storedge 128 Gb flash card for my data. That is still accessible via my OXS. No real loss if i have to reload windows 8.2 fortunately.

For the first time in 8 years I have decided that this was my last Apple product. Yosemite has wasted tens of hours related to wifi problems, Mail not working and now destroying my whole work Windows machine (which of I didn't have latest backup). I don't see the point of being Apple customer anymore so next devices won't be Apple anymore. Also IOS8 problems are contributing to this. 😟

Just to add another frustrated Apple user who wanted to boot into W7 today and couldn't after updating to 10.10.3 two days ago. This has never happened to me before. I use W7 avery few months.

The computer is a 2009 iMac 27". This workhorse has never had a problem and gets every update from Apple. That is until 10.10.3.

When I try using the Windows 7 partition, I just get a a blank screen. Nothing happens. In addition, the function to hold the option key to get the boot selection is now unreliable. This has never happened to me on any previous update. BTW - I use a hardware password without disk encryption.

While I don't see it happening, Apple is disappointing me more and more with each release. Windows 10 seems promising. I use PCs all day at work and they never hiccup, falter, or complain and they never get rebooted or need it. It seems they are more secure not less now.

I am going go hold off fixing this in the hope some news or update from Apple fixes it. This is just so disappointing.

Do you have backup of your Windows files/installation? All OSes have their issues. I usually wait to upgrade my critical machine for at least 6 months.
