My Apple TV always did a great job of displaying my iPhoto content. Now that I have switched to Photo, how do I get my Apple TV to switch to displaying my Photo content also. Thanks.
You can use home sharing, just switch the source to the photos app within iTunes (file -.home sharing - choose photos to share)
As far as streaming directly, that is not yet supported
Tried rebuilding the photo library on the external drive. Also tried creating a new library on the boot drive and migrating from iPhoto (again). No change. Logged out of home sharing and logged back in - no change.
I had the same problem and just resolved it for myself.
Go to photos, Preferences, General, then click "Use as system photo library". Then it showed up straight away in Itunes. NICE!!

The "Use as system photo library" tip worked for me.
I had just upgraded to El Capitan and was diappointed that the "bug" had not been fixed. But your tip fixed it.

I know this happened a year ago, but as it happened, I was banging my head over this very same issue, and this solved it! If you'd been "smart" and done this before creating a thread about it, and then finally telling us what you did do to solve it, I would still be banging my head over this. 😀 I was having this exact same issue, and it was really driving me nuts...so, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for helping me.
I am experiencing the same issue and went to Photos, Preferences, General and "Use as system photo library" was grayed out.
Have you gone to iTunes - Home Sharing - Choose Photos to Share . . ?
