Bug in Parallels Desktop 10 on Snow Leopard Server VM. Help!

I use Yosemite and have upgraded to Parallels Desktop 10 with Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server-based virtual machine, but I can't use it because clicking on the menus of programs and down with the mouse menu column it disappears instantly. That means that I can't use Virtual Machine with any application.

I ask in this forum because the Parallels support service is horrible. It is impossible to contact them. It seems that human beings there there is no.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Michael, many thanks for your answer. I upgraded to Parallels Desktop 10 after hundreds of messages asking me to do so. Error!. After several days of attempts I decided to delete PD 10. I'm Mac user from 1991. By the way, they have one of worst support services has ever seen. It is impossible to contact a person. I think that only interested making money, not customers.

Best regards and thanks again.

Many thanks for your answer, Michael. You're very kind 🙂

I read about this problem on Mac forums, and now I have read those links you sent me, but, unfortunately, I do not found the solution.

In any case, I deleted Parallels 10 (after paying the upgrade) because after installing several times Parallels Tools, Snow Leopard Server system was corrupted and appeared the screen full of stains, no folders, etc.

Thinking I had lost all the files, I tried to reinstall SLS as a virtual machine, but I could not do it because it gave me error continuously.

Then I deleted PD 10, but I'd like to retrieve at least files I had in the virtual disk... Although it is possible that everyone has been corrupted.

When I have time will connect an iMac to my main iMac by firewire (although this is not easy) to see if I can convert my main iMac in an external hard drive, but I don't know if doing that I'll get access to folders and files I had in Snow Leopard Server. When I try that, I’ll talk you.

Best regards.

Did you ever sort out your issues? and were you able to retrieve your files?

I want to run Snow Leopard Server on Yosemite [MacBook Pro, mid 2012, OS 10.5.5]] and have read conflicting reports on which version of Parallels will work. [a Sept 5th report says Parallels 11 will not work]

Thanks for any insights or pointers.

The OP says the problem is not being able to install both Leopard Server and Snow Leopard Server and/or run it on Parallels 11. The followup comments (as of right now) are limited to Leopard Server.

I personally have not tried out Parallels 11 yet, so I cannot give you any specific advice on that version.

I would suggest that you continue to work with Parallels 10 until this issue is sorted out. You can probably still purchase Parallels 10 from 3rd party sources, such as Amazon, eBay, etc. Be sure to upgrade online to the most recent update of version 10 of Parallels.

Many thanks Michael. Really appreciate your patience.

1. I do not know where the spam folder is on either my old mbp running SL, nor on my new mbp running Yosemite.

I do see icon to 'mark' junk email; but no folder or mailbox for spam? darn. is that in open sight somewhere?

2. I will check out the link with instructions for PD10 w SLS onto Yosemite. Soon. 🙂

3. I fear i have overlooked some other detail before i buy 'the parts' [tho maybe i need to hurry up and purchase while still avail?]

To summarize: the new mbp is a MacBookPro [mid 2012] with Yosemite 10.5.5 and my goal is to 'virtualize' [?] my old mbp [mid 2009] running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 [so I can run iTunes 10 and see multiple playlists simultaneously and continue to run other apps which, for me, look/feel/run better.]

And i will need to purchase Snow Leopard Server and Parallels 10? Do I have that right?

Thanks for your kindness.
