iTunes uses the Gracenote service for providing CD information. If this is not a standard commercial CD it won't be in the database unless you entered it there originally. If it is a commercial CD it is possible the service is temporarily down, or you may not have your preferences set to connect to the database when a CD is inserted. We really need more background from you.

To re-identify an incorrectly identified CD: "Insert the CD and select it in iTunes, then menu Advanced > Get CD track names.
