Import problem II (cannot import anything)

HI,

Since upgrade FCPX 10.2 yesterday, I cannot import anything from my Camera or from my SD Card. The media import window seem to work but when I hit the «Import» button, nothing happen.

I can see and play my clip in the Import windows.

I can drag and drop thing from the finder but my movie from my Sony NXCAM AVCHD cannot be drag and drop.

I'll try to import my media from Sony «software tools»... but i prefer work with FCP.

I tried in a new project, in new event and in a new library but nothing work.

Can you copy theocrat ro your Mac and import from the copy?

Can you create an archive from the FCP import window?

I am having the exact same problem. I can't get my vids to import. UGH. Not good as I needed them live by tomorrow and I have been working on this for a couple of days.

EXACT same problem here. Tried all the usual troubleshooting:

Reinstall of software, permissions repaired, etc.

Fortunately I am able to drag and drop, but the inability to import directly (with the Import Button) is a serious pain.

All I am doing is trying to import ANYTHING.

Click Command I (or click on import) and when the import window comes up everything appears to be OK, but when you select an item or multiple items in the import browser window, clicking on the "Import Selected" and/or the "Import All" does NOTHING. The ONLY way to import anything is by canceling out of that import window and manually dragging and dropping the content from the finder to the app.

OK good, so the import window opens. What are you trying to import, from where? What settings do you have in the right sidebar and what are you selecting? Maybe post a screen shot. I ask all this because I have not been able to make it fail.

It doesn't matter what I am trying to import or from where - music, video or pictures from anywhere or any drive. Nothing imports this way.

like Daniel, in the Media Import window I can play and see the content on the SD Card*, browse in all devices but nothing happen when hitting Import Button.

*The «NoName» camera is a SD card from a Sony NXCAM. Files are AVCHD.

That doesn't look right. The window doesn't look active and the buttons don't look active. Aside from that it looks OK.

Where is the library located?

My library are at the root of the my RAID named «6TBRAID5».

Sine the upgrade of the Events and Projects of FCPX 10.1(in 2014?), my Libraries are always at the same place.

Edit (13h42): I just create a new Test Library on my Desktop (different hard drive) and I have the same problem.

The window does look odd. Like it's not functioning. It should look like this

not grayed out. I assume you did the usual trash prefs and repair permissions.

Yes, my window is active. I can browse in it, play the clip and change settings . My 1st screen shot is odd because I used «Grab» to capture the window. My active application was Grab instead FCPX... There is the good one.

I did trash prefs and repair permissions.

CCan't see why it doesn't work. Try switching off everything in the right except copy to library. Also try setting and external folder for your media and see if that functions.

My screens look the same as above. I can hook up the camera (Sony Handicam), select where the files will be imported, all the settings, etc. And then tell it to import. The import will "begin". The Event will be created, and even show the files in them. However, When I click on a video to use it (view or add to timeline), all of the sudden it will tell me that no file exists. I haven't tried to drag and drop the files in yet, but will be trying that next as i need my videos to go live today.
