Import problem II (cannot import anything)

HI,

Since upgrade FCPX 10.2 yesterday, I cannot import anything from my Camera or from my SD Card. The media import window seem to work but when I hit the «Import» button, nothing happen.

I can see and play my clip in the Import windows.

I can drag and drop thing from the finder but my movie from my Sony NXCAM AVCHD cannot be drag and drop.

I'll try to import my media from Sony «software tools»... but i prefer work with FCP.

I tried in a new project, in new event and in a new library but nothing work.

I am using a HDR-XR520 12 MP HD and the videos are imported as AVCHD.

That's a hard drive based camera. Try this. With the camera connected to AC, in the import window switch off all the items on the right, except copy of course. Then import. Then open the background task HUD and see what's going on. Don't do anything to the camera until whatever's happening there is compete.

Using drag and drop is the best solution for now if you want to go live today.

The fastest way to do it is to covert your AVCHD files before draging in FCPX. Exporting your MTS in ProRes will save you time when draging your video file in FCPX.

This is what I get after importing.

here is the import screen, all options unselected.

Still no go on the import. This time, with all options unselected, only one file came across, but is shows the same as above.

I am on an iMac 27" Retina, 32g Memory (late 2014)

OS X 10.10.3

Oh, and nothing is happing on the background. They all show idle.

yes, I am. It is a 3TB external hard drive. I have stored all of my videos there, even when I was doing my videos on my macbook pro. The videos ate up all of the space on the laptop.

JJust for a test try a new library in Movies. I've seen other people having problems going to TM drives.

Hmmm, that seemed to work. But it isn't a solution that will work for a long time as I don't have the space for the videos on the hard drive of the computer. So do I just need to export them to another drive once I am done editing them?

Dang, that stinks as that drive was purchased for my media. All of my movies are on that one. UGH. Okay. Thanks. I have just installed a new cloud server, I will see if I can import the files to that and see if it works there. Thanks for your help Tom!

Unfortunately I think that MetalsmithMelissa has taken this slightly off topic (as legitimate as her issue is). Favro and I are having the same issue of the Import button not working at all. I uncheck all the boxes, deleted preferences, repaired permissions and still the import button does not work.

Anyone figure this out yet? i cannot import unless i drag the file over manually. the import button on the import page does not work it does nothing. Please help
