Contactless cards doesn't work inside iPhone 6 case

hi!

I have one curiosity about the iPhone and external NFC cards because I tried to use the public transport card wearing it into my iPhone 6 case and it doesn't work. If I have it in my wallet (wich take more space between the card and the reader) works fine, so I think that it can be some kind of interference that make the iPhone.

regards!

I don't know that that means the NFC chip is disconneted. However, you can do the experiment. Take the phone out of the case and hold the transit card and the case against the reader and see if it works. If it does, it was the case. If it doesn't it was the phone. You will then know if you need to consider a different case or carrying the transit card somewhere else.

This has always been a problem with NFC cards. Most readers can't deal with more than one NFC source in range at a time. I carry access cards for several clients. I have to make sure the card I'm using is the only one that is near the sensor. There have also been reports that people using the optical scanner for boarding passes at airports trigger the passport reader with Apple Pay.

As I said, it isn't really an iPhone problem. It's an NFC problem. The technology, which is out of Apple's control, cannot tolerate 2 or more NFC content sources simultaneously. You would have the same problem if you had 2 keycards in your holder, or a keycard and a mass transit card. I know, because I can't keep my PATH subway card in the same holder as my office access card.
