Ipad in recovery mode? Error 1671 pops up every time? What do I do?

I see that this question goes unanswered a lot. What is the solution? Right now my ipad says that I need to plug it into itunes which it is and that its in recovery mode. All it does is load the update for the ipad and just fails then says i need to update or restore???
