Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

thanks

I got my order on on 4/10 at 12:03 PST - at least that is the time on the email from Apple acknowledging the pre-order. And no, as of this evening my status has not changed from Processing Your Order to Preparing for Shipment.

I sincerely doubt if anyone will see that update until at the earliest next week. And even if they do ship, Apple's policy in the past for new releases is that the shipping company does not deliver before the release date. (Now I am sure that there are some stories about a mistaken early delivery - or perhaps a hefty tip to the UPS or FEDEX driver......)

Don't mind at all.

I have a Fitbit Charge HR and she's seen the features there. She works nights as a nurse. So she was interested in the sleep tracking as well.

Not as pretty as Apple Watch but as a health/activity tracker it really can't be beat. But she also expressed interest in the Apple Watch.

She wore it to work last night with 80% battery. Didn't sync all of her apps to it on purpose cause I read that can overwhelming. Just added Starbucks for now.

She barely had a chance to mess with it and it was dead by midnight. She started work at 7pm.

The Fitbit automatically senses when you go to sleep and wake up. It continuously tracks your heart rate. Apple Watch does neither of these.

The Fitbit app is really wonderful. The Apple Health app is not very good at all at least in comparison.

As a health/activity tracker as it stands the Apple Watch kinda stinks. It's beautiful, yes. But for that much money it's more of a toy/status symbol really.

That said, I apparently have a 38mm Sport with White Sport Band for sale. Lol.

Since the Apple Watch has no sensors to measure sleep and has never claimed to have them why would you buy the Watch?

Haven't had the battery issue you mention and the Watch does periodically measure heart rate.

I've read it actually does have the sensors and it has the means to record sleep data in the health app. But Apple has not given it the ability similar to a Fitbit.

In order to track sleep you have to actively tell it you're going to sleep and waking up.

The watch does periodically measure heart rate. Periodically To save battery. Fitbit measures heart rate continuously with a 5 day battery.

Sorry if I insulted the almighty apple watch. It's just not up to speed for a $350-$10,000 device when a $150 device does most of your common activity tasks way better.

Returning it tomorrow. Maybe they'll put out a better device next year.
