Is it possible to make a smart playlist of songs already on my iPhone?

I want to have a playlist called "Shower", which includes songs I've marked with the word "shower" in the grouping category. However I only want to include songs that are already on my iPhone for other reasons.

For example, I've manually synced the Frozen soundtrack as well as Metallica to my iPhone. But I don't want Let it Go to play while I'm in the shower, just in case somewhere hears and I have to leave the country. So I've marked all the "shower-appropriate" songs like Metallica with "shower" tags. But I don't want all the shower songs to sync, I just want ones that are already on there to be grouped in a playlist called "Shower".

Rammo,

There is no iTunes smart playlist logic that can account for something like "already on the iPhone."

It sounds like you really have two kinds of Shower songs: the OK ones, and the ones where you might have to leave the country. I suggest you tag them differently, using the Grouping field or other convenient field, perhaps as "ShowerOK" and "ShowerLTC." Then the Smart Playlist will distinguish them correctly.

Thanks for the reply ed but my problem's not that the smart playlists aren't working, it's just that I don't want to upload every song from my iTunes library that meets the criteria.

I think your first statement answers my question, but I'm still hoping for a clever workaround!

Rammo, The best way to use iTunes is to make a playlist that matches what you want to have on the iPhone, and then sync with the "Sync selected playlists" option.
