My ipod 5 has mysteriously shut down, and has a broken home button.

My ipod 5 has shut down, and when I hold the lock button it doesn't turn back on, and the needs to be charged symbol does not come back on. My warranty expired, and all websites say to do is to hold the lock and home button at the same time, but my home button broke! WHAT DO I DO? I've already tried fixing the home button, but it didn't work. What do I do?
