I'm trying to export about 600 addresses from Outlook 2000 to my iPad?

I hope to move addresses from my XP PC Outlook 2000 to my iPad 2.

I tried using the export program from Outlook 2000 but this seems rather unco-operative.

I copied and pasted my address book to an Excell file but now face an enormous sorting process.

I hope that if I do sort succesfully that the excell file will be accepted by the iPad contacts ap.
