The item can’t be moved to the Trash because some of its plugins are in use.

I moved the plugins to trash and went back to finder folder to use the command delete on drop box but it still says cannot be moved to trash because it is open / i am running high sierra 10.13.1 off a Mac Pro. Thank you for any help.

Never EVER EVER run the command

sudo rm -rf /

This command instructs your computer to delete ALL files on the disk.

I have the Macbook 12-inch OsSierra and have this same problem with Dropbox. I the control-click doesn't do anything besides open the app.

You must do this procedure within finder, not launchpad then it will work. It also works for BT Cloud.
