I have a iPod Nano 2nd generation which will not appear in my iTune menu (Mac OS X; iTunes 12.1.2.27). I've tried to reset it and to put it in disk mode. I've tried two USB cables. I've restarted iTunes twice. I sync our IPod Nano 7th Gen often.

Have you tried to hard reset your ipod?
Instructions:
1. Toggle "Hold" from off > on > off
2. Press and hold the "Menu" & "Center" buttons
3. Release the buttons when the screen darkens itself
4. Wait (a few seconds) until the iPod menu screen reappears

I have this question too, but i use acer laptop.
and i try everything, including hard reset, but it doesn't work with itunes.
when i connect to laptop by cable, it just shows charging, that's it.
and i try disk mode too, but it doesn't either.
how can i do now? please help me.

Thanks Caraoge - hard reset worked perfectly and can now synch Nano 2nd generation to iTunes 12. Looks like this is a software issue for Apple to resolve. Thumbs up for community help!
