To expand on Jim's answer, sometimes, when people subtract one number that is exactly half of the number they're subtracting from, they think that nothing happened after the hit the equal sign because the display doesn't appear to have changed, so they tap the equal sign again, causinging the same number to be subtracted again.


77-38.5-38.5 = 0

You posted this question 22 days late! 😉. I get it though, you're bored lol.


When you press the equal sign, the number on the screen doesn't change (because the last number you type before pressing equal is the same as what you get after pressing equal), so you're tempted to press the equal sign again.

This will subtract 38.5 from 77 twice (essentially, 77 - 38.5 - 38.5 = 0).


Solution: don't tap on equal twice 😉.
