Sunrise / sunset application does not show time

I had almost given up hope. None of the solutions provided worked for me until this one. Thank you.

Have there been any updates to this problem ? My Apple watch only displays the "sunset". Never the Sunrise. It seems in need to try some of the above"fixes" Just to get the "sunset" to update to the correct time.

Great smuc86, this worked for me. I turned off bluetooth and then I wanted to also reconnect to WiFi, but in the process of finding "forget network" option on my iPhone my watch already showed sunset. Apparently the watch needed to get the information via WiFi. Perhaps this is also the explanation why it worked for other people to walk away from the iPhone, WiFi has a longer reach than bluetooth.

I tried the other solutions, but the one that worked for me was the quickest one: Open Maps on the watch and wait until it displays where you are. As soon as I did that and returned to the watch face, the complication showed the sunset / sunrise times.

Weird how mine only shows sunset. Never sunrise.

It seems that the problem is the Watch periodically loses its internal GPS position and needs to update it. The way you can find out is if you switch to the Astronomy Watch face displaying Earth, and look for the green dot that shows your position on the earth. If it's missing, it's lost your position.

The only way to get it to come back is to open the Maps application on the Watch, and wait for it to find my location. Alternatively you can bring up the Maps Glance page and wait for it to find your position. Once it finds it, the green dot shows up on the Astronomy face and then the sunrise/sunset complication will show a time again.

I had this same issue today. I did try a few of the things listed. Then it occurred to me that there were two weather apps on the watch. The native app and I installed The Weather Channel app on my watch. I deleted The Weather Channel and the sunrise began working again.

This was overkill for me - it was sufficient to toggle Apple Watch Faces under Location Services

Same problem here, I rebooted my watch and it worked fine after.

In my case, after updating my iPhone to iOS 9 today, the Sunset/Sunrise times disappeared same as other posters, but all I had to do was toggle the setting for "Allow Watch Faces", under: iPhone -> Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Apple Watch Faces.

Set it to "Never", wait a bit, the set it back to "While Using the App". Once that was done, on the Watch, the green dot for the Astronomy face showed up, and the times for Sunrise/Sunset complication, showed the right values. They were null/blank before.

This works for me too.

IF YOU UNPAIR YOUR WATCH FROM YOUR IPHONE AND THEN PAIR IT AGAIN IT WILL WORK.

The solution of going to the Privacy setting on the iPhone and turning off the "watch face" for a few minutes and then back on SOLVED the problem. Seems very logical once I did it!! Rebooting the watch, rebooting the iwatch etc.did nothing.
