Connection to App store failed. Also problem with Mail and iTunes

I have 2 iMacs and 2 iPads on 3 of them I can download updates from the App Store and they work properly on all programs, but on 1 iMac the App Store window comes up but stays blank.

When going to "Store" "view my account" it asks for the password (which I know is correct) but I get the answer "connection failed".

Trying to connect to iTunes I also have following problem :

User uploaded file

after the cancel I get the next window as follows :

User uploaded file

And as a problem never comes alone I was unable to despatch this morning an email from my usual server getting following message :

User uploaded file

As I'm prudent I did not try to connect.

I was however able to send the related email using my outgoing iCloud.com server instead of the me.com server

I presume all problems are related to each other but I have no idea how to overcome them on this particular iMac (an Intel Core 2 duo running OSX 10.9.5) considering that the problems don't exist on my second iMac nor on the 2 iPads.

To my knowledge they all use the same Apple ID and outgoing servers.

I would appreciate if anyone could help.

Thanks beforehand.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select Certificates. In the list of certificates on the right, does any have a name that begins with "VeriSign"?

Next, select My Certificates from the Category list. Any "VeriSign" items now?

Thanks a lot.

This solved indeed all my problems and I was able to access the App Store and to make the requested updates.

I simply hope that deleting the ones beginning with "Verisign" will not cause problems on other applications.

By the way on my second iMac I saw that I also have "My certificates" beginning with "Verisign" and that I have both under "Certificates" and "My Certificates" expired ones.

I presume, that although I am not aware of having problems with this second computer, that I can also delete these items.

Thanks for your attention.
