should i down load Skype for my new macbook pro?

Should I download Skype for my new macbook pro. I have used it successfully from my PC but I am new to Macbook

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

You can if you want; ensure that you get it directly from Skype's website.

You can use Skype if it's the most recent version. But if you are talking with other Mac users then the preferred tool is FaceTime. Skype is only needed to talk with non-Mac users.
