Suspected virus attack

Today, I launched Safari. It was automatically directed to www.chathubb.com and multiply played back audio clips. The playback was looping again and again. On the screen, lots of pop up boxes with links such as www.playerme.org, www.media-fire.org, etc. Can someone advise what should I do to clear them up. Thanks!

Actually Microsoft seems to have learned a great deal. As I understand Windows' latest versions, its native anti-virus protection is actually very effective. That's another reason the "anti-virus" peddlers are resorting to hysterics in an attempt to assert their continued relevance in a world that has moved beyond their need.


I haven't had to use Windows in about two years but when I did, maintaining it just to keep it secure and running at a minimum level of functionality was practically a full time job.
