Does a Macbook stop charging automatically when the battery is full?

Hello there,

I have a Macbook Pro 13' mid 2014 and and was wondering if the charging stopped automatically when the battery is compeltely full,

my previous Macbook's battery died twice in the space of 3 and a half years

so I was wondering if I was wrongly assuming for several years that the battery stopped charging automatically

Thank you!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Yes. It will not overcharge. The most common recommendation is to avoid deeply discharging the battery if possible and to try to use it a minimum of one cycle total per month -- i.e., don't always use it plugged in. Examples of a full cycle would be to discharge it to 50% twice or 25% 4 times or any other combination that adds up to approximately 100%.
