All your Events have been migrated as Albums. They've been located in a folder named iPhoto Events. Turn Show Sidebar in the View menu for easier orientation.

This has not solved my problem Rysz. I went to View then opened sidebar. There is no folder titled "iPhoto events"
Are all your photos in the Photos and All Photos albums?
If not, you might have migrated the wrong iPhoto Library. The new Photos Library should be located in your User > Pictures folder. Move it to the Trash, but don't empty it. Hold down the Option key while launching Photos and select your main iPhoto Library.
Do you see any albums listed under the ALBUMS heading, such as Faces?
This has not helped me. Originally I had over 1000 photos on about 25 albums and they have all disappeared when I downloaded the new iPhoto app. How can I find the old library?
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Thank you that solved the problem.
Very grateful.
Glad it all worked out for you!
Just curious, for my own education. Was this post unclear?
Thank you for your advice, but it was unclear what i had to do. Terrance Devan's advice was simple and worked.
Hi Rysz
I have the same problem
I see the photos, but the old albums have not been imported.
What can I do?
