Airplane Mode - Mirror iPhone issue

I have turned on the option to mirror my iPhone for Airplane Mode.

This works when you turn Airplane Mode ON, it is then turned on in both devices.

However, turning Airplane Mode OFF on the iPhone does not turn off Airplane mode for the Apple Watch.

Does anyone else have this issue?

If ALL radio is off why does the watch think it is connected to the phone?

When Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are disabled on your iPhone and your Apple Watch reports that it is connected, then your Apple Watch has connected, as a fallback, to a known Wi-Fi network:

I can see the logic in that answer. But I just carried out a bit of an experiment; I set airplane mode to on from the watch and both the watch and the phone went into that state. I then turned airplane mode off on the watch. As you would expect it appeared to not be able to send that state to the 'phone (i.e. the phone stayed in airplane mode). Hi James

That is certainly one of the methods via which Airplane Mode can be turned off on Apple Watch (via Settings).

However, the questions here (which have already been answered) were:

- Why doesn't turning Airplane Mode off on one device also turn it off on the other? (answer: that is the expected behaviour, as it is not possible).

- How to turn off Airplane Mode on a locked watch (addressed in a different thread).
