Help!!! I'm not crazy. I think I'm in love with you. You've summed up my exact problem. Why aren't there more of us experiencing it? That's what I don't get.
I've spent dozens of hours on the phone now with both Apple and Amazon.com. Apple was being good about trying to find a fix. But then the Amazon.com techs said it was an Amazon.com problem.
They sent me an e-mailing on May 16th asking me to call them to go over some more fixes. I called today and got five (5) crazy Amazon.com reps. Four in Jamaica and the last one, in the US, were the worst people I've ever talked to. The last guy, who wouldn't give me his name or put anything in writing, said it wasn't an Amazon.com problem and never had been. I asked if all the phone conversations and e-mails I had were from people who were lying or didn't know as much as he, the phone rep, did. What was really irritating for the past two months has become a nightmare.
I'm going to the Genius Bar tomorrow. I'm going to see if an 'in person' visit results in figuring out what's wrong and how to fix it. I'll let you know someone this week. I'm traveling a lot on Wednesday and Thursday so I'll let you know what I find out!
It's only this computer that I have the problem with; it worked fine for the first couple hundred books. And it stopped working after a software update which makes me think it's related. I've been in the IT industry for almost 30 years and know enough to know that noone has a clue!
I have a MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.3 purchased October 2014
