Hi,

Every time I try to do a search in the support section of apple.com, I get the following message:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://support.apple.com/kb/index?" on this server.

I repaired the permissions on my MacAir and also cleared the browsing data in Safari. Any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden. It used to work before upgrading to Yosemite.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

I also ran into the same problem, after running a Tor intermediary relay for about half a year. Many sites block Tor exit relays, as they are pose as the origin for the sometimes harmful traffic being routed out from the network. However, running a Tor intermediary relay only sends traffic in between Tor relays and never out to the Internet. Therefore I'm kind of surprised that Apple (or Akamai or whatever service they are using) block such relays.

When using Tor as a user, ie browsing the Internet using Tor, I can turn it on and off depending on which site I'm visiting. At home, I run a Tor intermediary router to help route traffic within the Tor network, but I allow no traffic to exit from Tor to the Internet from my home IP and it's generally discouraged to do it like that, and let people and organizations who have dedicated IP:s use them for Tor relays without mixing them with other services.

The habit of blocking intermediary Tor routers and not only the Exit routers is quite serious. It's one thing if a small insignificant site does it - another thing when Akamai does it.

I really wonder that their reason for doing so is other than paranoia and FUD.
