Can you mute a group message on Apple Watch?

Yes

It started working for me (i.e., no pings for muted messages on my watch) a few months after I started having this problem back in 2015. But now that I just updated to iOS 11 and watchOS 4, the bug is back. 😟

I wish I could get my group messaged on my watch. We have a family chat that is not going to my watch however i am still able to get individual messages.

I have been trying to find an answer to the same question myself. It claims to "mirror" the notifications from your iphone, but a few group chats that I have muted with the "do not disturb" are still muted on my phone, but not on my watch. This is very annoying. If it is muted on my phone, why not also on my watch if it is "mirroring?"

I really need this. I've got a group message that I'm on that I usually just follow casually because it's so chatty and I can't keep up. Now my watch is just vibrating constantly.

This needs to be fixed. It is driving me INSANE!

Same issue, sport watch 42mm. iPhone 5s, up to date software on both, 2 calls to apple support still no fix, tried every reset, reboot, delete conversations, unpair re-pair, hard reset, toggle DND, toggle settings, no fix, now I have to go to the store to have it looked at. Weak sauce, driving me insane

As of now, not yet. But, it would be useful..

Thanks. I just did that. I've sent in a request there before too, but because this is a very important problem and is one that could be fixed so easily by them, I just wanted to post on here and see if anyone else has found a solution and/or if anyone else finds it as annoying as I do. It seems that indeed many people find it annoying and also that it still hasn't been fixed. :/
