Yes, turn on the emoji keyboard.
I couldn't find the emoji keyboard on messaging screen. I can change the writing language, add voice message and numbers/characters but not emojis. I also looked to the keyboard settings from general settings, but couldn't find anything related to emoji
Sorry, I'm not using 8.1.3 and don't remember where it was located at that time. You might try a search here or in Google.
Is there a reason you don't want 8.3 and like having an insecure phone?
Actually I'm willing to upgrade to 8.3 but a lot of people have problems (mostly) with Wi-Fi and battery drainage. So I'm trying not to update my iOS to 8.3
I have a 6 Plus, I'm not having WiFi or drainage problems. I had coffee with 3 people Sunday who all have the 6 Plus on 8.3. No issues.
If you are waiting for the absolute perfect upgrade you will never upgrade. You are missing some security upgrades that were done in 8.2 and 8.3.
I just don't want to risk it. The battery durability & Wi-Fi connection are the only reasons that I use a smartphone. BTW, I found my solution for emojis: settings --> general settings --> keyboard --> add nw keyboard --> Emoji
Glad you discovered it.
Where are you finding information that everyone is having battery life and WiFi problems? Here? To use the stale analogy, if an alien was beamed down to earth into a hospital they would think most people on earth were sick. When 8.4 is released you will also see posts saying they can't use WiFi and battery life is worse. If you search the archives you will see posts that 8.1.3 broke WiFi and made battery life worse. It all depends on the individuals phone. For 97% there is no issue.
If battery life and WiFi is a bigger concern than someone hacking your phone you have made the right choice. Glad your emoji problem is solved.
