I don't try to sync. I have done the "sync" all the time manually by copying podcast entries into a list that lives on the iPod touch.

Yes.

I don't know. I decided years ago to not sync everything, due to place constraints (16GB).

So this may be a misconception. I just searched where all the place is gone, and found there things directly on the iPod touch, which I cannot change, and are not visible in iTunes, where I would have the option to delete them.

Yes, but I don't sync automatically, but manually copy the songs to the iPod.

Not that I know it. Only applications where synced in the past, but the last update is at least 2 years old.

iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
I have not checked theses boxes. I have now started iTunes, and this is the status for each tab:
- Synced: Apps, Contacts (with Outlook), Calendars (with Outlook)
- Not synced: Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Books, Photos, Mails (with Outlook)

Which I have done all the time.

Which is not my problem,
See
iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows
- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause
iTunes for Windows: Device Sync Tests
Also see:

- Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem

Just to ensure that the problem is clear:

this is visible on my iPod touch (28 parts of the podcast).

There is no podcast named "Bits und so" in my list of Podcasts.
