Anyone else not having any problems accessing iTMS?

Am I the only person not having any problems accessing iTMS all weekend? I'm using telus.net as my ISP.

Note: This thread is posted here as satire to counteract the echo chamber of people with network routing issues blaming Apple for their ISP problems.

having the same issues here everyone... New Ipod Owner and New install of Itunes 7... sporadic disconnections.... If I try to restart the downloads enuf times they eventually will go thru one at a time..
I would guess Apple is having some major connectivity issues right now.. maybe even an issue with Apples connectivity to the internet where they host the Itunes store from.

I live in NJ and my brother is in lower NY state. My internet connection has been dicey all weekend. (slow load time, pages not loading, timeouts on simple cached pages on my Mac.) This has all been on comcast.

On My brohter's PC using RoadRunner, we have not been able to access the ITMS all weekend.

While iTunes 7 is very buggy, (mac and PC) it seems with so many people having issues specifically from the NE and specifically with Time Warner, Comcast, and Road Runner, I don't think it's an Apple issue.

I am no computing genius and don't know all the ins and outs of how the ISPs and networks work and how the ITMS is only having problems with the northeast. That doesn't make sense with me. I DO know that with almost ALL ISP's, (I've used at least 4 in the last 4 years, 3 in NJ and 1 in FL)) they never accept responsibility for connection issues, they just want you to pay your bills.

It could very well be an Apple problem, but I don't see the symptoms people are reporting to be an Apple issues. It's the same companies (AOL, Time Warner and Road Runner) and the same locals, to be an Apple issue.

(like when my ISP blocks my e-mail server port for my .mac E-Mail account, it's not Apple it's my stupid ISP messing with one of the two recognised e-mail ports.)

Anyway, I don't have any answers, gonna try to do some of what is suggested here (re-authorize, etc) and hope for the best.

SInce upgrading to ITunes 7 yesterday I too can not get somgs to preview, although I was able to buy 3 songs but not able to download. I also have RR and am in Raleigh, NC but have had no issues with any other websites. ANy suggestions as I have tried to download my music on and off all day and keep getting a connection error. However I can get ITunes but browsing is very slow as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Read the thread (and others) again -- the problems are all with Time Warner (i.e. RoadRunner, AOL, etc.), specifically their upstream provider Level 3.

Do a Traceroute on phobos.apple.com (the address that iTunes uses to connect to the Store) and the connection dies at so-12-0.hsa3.sanjose1.level3.net, before it even gets to Apple. This does not happen with any ISP that doesn't use Level 3 as their upstream provider.

They lied. It is a problem with their upstream provider, Level 3. I spoke with the RoadRunner national help desk and the woman with whom I spoke knew the exact issue as soon as I mentioned iTunes. She says they're aware of the issue and are working on fixing it but they don't have an ETA for a fix.

Again, this problem is limited to Time Warner customers (and some BrightHouse customers, which use Time Warner's network in some areas). Do a traceroute to phobos.apple.com and the it consistently stops hopping at so-12-0.hsa3.sanjose1.level3.net, before it even gets to Apple or their connection providers. Again, this is NOT an Apple problem, and there's nothing Apple can do to fix it at this point. Call Time Warner and bug them about it.

iTunes Store seems to be back up now. It was a RoadRunner issue. Out in SoCal they were switching their network from Comcast to RoadRunner (which is pointless because almost the entire state of Texas is being switched the other way around, seems like a big waste of time and money to me).

Still ticked off, though, because I called the RoadRunner national tech support line and I asked the guy three different times if there were any outages or maintenance being done on the network that would cause this and he said no, even though it turns out half of SoCal was experiencing internet outages. Big help tech support was.. they didn't even know what was going on with their own company. You'd think he would've pieced it together when I told him that me and several other people were running tracert's that stopped at the same hop on a level3 San Jose network. The guy didn't even know what a proxy was. Brilliant people at tech support, just brilliant.

If he had just told me that they were switching carriers out in California (he should have known this) I would have known ten hours ago that it was an ISP issue, and not an Apple issue. But either way, it seems to be cleared up for now, unless more outages show up in Cali..

Hmmmm...was able to connect briefly this morning before work (around 5am) and my "Numb3rs" download completed. Having trouble again connecting. I went in person to Time Warner office (Northeastern OH) to pay my cable bill and the person at the register (who has always been very nice to me) didnt know anything about trouble with ITunes. I was really hoping it would have been fixed by now. I thought it was this morning and that is why I added another ITunes card. Please dont tell me I blew more money for nothing.

Nobody I talk to seems to know anything...Dell Tech, Time Warner (2 different employees), written to Apple twice now and no response yet.
