Mouse and keyboard freeze multiple times a day.
Forcing a restart is the only way to access computer when they do.
They will work for a while after restart and do it again.
Batteries replaced in keyboard and mouse.
Mouse even switched with wired mouse, both wireless mouse and wired freeze when keyboard does.
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Check your batteries in the wireless hardware.

I have the same, if not a very similar issue. iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) running macOS 10.12.2 (16C67) - I updated on 21st December - The issue was there for a while, sporadically, before then, since the patch it's happening more often...
I'm using an Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Magic Mouse, both with new batteries. The mouse cursor will move, but it won't interact (won't click) and the keyboard won't do anything. I've also changed to a USB mouse, but have the same issue.
To get out of this I have to power off the iMac and reboot.
