Watch not syncing with iPhone activity app
My watch does not always sync my activity to the activity app on iPhone. I have to reboot my phone to get my activity to sync. Anyone else finding this issue?

Since I got my new phone, my activity tracker will not synchronize with my iWatch. I've tried all the tricks - rebooting, turning off/on airplane mode, changing progress updates to none, and unpairing. Nothing! Any other ideas. It hasn't worked in a month.

Yeah having the exact same problem, its seems to take hours at times even when connected to WIFI. Restarting the app doesn't work but restarting the phone seems to do the trick. Would be nice if it would sync more often or there was at least an option on the phone app to force a sync.

Update to my last message.
Yesterday it came to the point that my Watch (Apple Watch 2) and my iPhone (IPhone 6) did not synchronise at all during the whole day. With much reluctance, I decided to un-pair the Watch and re-pair ir with the iPhone.
In order not to lose any data, I decided to let them a chance to synchronise during the night and do it when I'd wake up. Luckily, they synchronised during the night so I didn't lose any health data. I re-paired the Watch chosing the "safeguard of a former watch" option (as opposed to "pair as a new watch"). The operation enabled to solve the issue - most likely until it reappears. 😕
IM having the same issue. Rebooting phone worked once, but just noticed that all of yesterday's updates didn't get to activity app on iPhone, although the badges I earned for the activity dId! So I know the watch synced since I now have badges that reflect correctly, but don't match the activity level stored on phone. Weird.
My activity app isn't syncing either. It's strange how things USED to work, but no longer do. I've had the watch for 12 days, and apparently have only stood during the first 3 days. Walks outside used to register as workouts, and now I get 0 minutes on the exercise wheel (even when starting the activity using the workout app). It's pretty frustrating since I only got the watch for the fitness aspect. Fitbit is looking pretty good right about now.
This is the best solution to the problem, following the person above me by going into the Apple Watch App under activity and changing Progress Update to none. Actually if you read the fine print under "Progress Updates" you'll understand why it doesn't sync right away. Best of luck people as we navigate this new world of Apple Watch Land...
same issue here. I cannot find "Progress update", do I miss something?
There is only available (I've translated quick&dirty from German to EN): Checks, reminder to stand up, status updates, goals reached, success, week summary'
The only way to get it synced is rebooting the iPhone :-(
Had this same issue.
My fix was simple:
swipe up on Apple Watch to access Glances.
In the Settings glance, touch the Airplane to put the watch in "Airplane Mode".
That disconnects Apple Watch from iPhone.
Touch the Airplane again to reconnect Apple Watch to iPhone and the activity app automatically syncs.
You must use the apple watch app on your iPhone to get to progress updates. It can be found as the silver watch on a black square icon on your iPhone. If you can find simply pull the screen on you iPhone down and search for it. Once you find it and open itake sure your in the My Watch tab. You will know you are if you look at the bottom of the screen and my watch it highlighted in Orange. Scroll down to fifth section and select activity. Then scroll down to progress updates and select it. Clice on none. Your watch and phone will automatically sync. Then I go back and change my progress updates to every four hours because I like the support throughout the day. So actually if I do a workout and want to see it in activity right away I change progress updates to none and then change it back to every four hours all the other times of day. Hope this helps and make sense.
Maybe you found it already, but the progress setting they are talking about is "Statusmeldungen" in german ;-)
I have the same problem. Usually it updated a few minutes up to an hour later. But yesterday it didn't update after my workout and also didn't update anything from today.
Funny thing is that mine was set to "none" already. So I set it to some other value (4h) and it updated right away. So it seems changing anything here is a trigger to update. Seems indeed to be a bug (and as others reported, it had worked fine in the beginning. Not sure if it came over time or is a bug introduced with 1.01)
I also get the syncing problem and the Airplane Mode solution seems like a good temporary fix. There seems to be a bug in the Activity app, either on the Watch or the Phone, which affects the bluetooth connection and thus the syncing. I also find that the syncing becomes inactive when I recharge my devices. It means I have to reboot everytime I charge my Watch or my Phone. Not good. I hope Apple can send out a software fix soon.
I have the same problem. I had the activity set on 4 hrs and I changed it to "none". I tried rebooting both the iphone and the watch. I tried turning on "Airplane" mode on the watch. All of these did not work.
I then tried turning on "Airplane" mode on the iPhone and got an automatic sync when I turned it off.
I hope this helps and I hope that Apple fixes the bug soon.
Cheers,
Not sure is there has been a solution for this issue people seem to have, I just picked up my watch on saturday and I found that the best way to refresh the activity app on the iPhone is to use Handoff. What I tend to do it open the app on my watch, properly or through glances doesn't matter, this should trigger the phone to prompt handoff to the Activity app. This will force the update within the app on the phone. If it doesn't work, kill the app on the phone, lock your phone and try it again and it should work. Hopefully that helped! Works for me!
I just got off the phone with Apple Care and my Activity App is now syncing with my Watch. The fix was to do an unencrypted backup of my iPhone 6s to my computer using iTunes. Once this was done I unpaired the Watch from the iPhone and did a restore to the iPhone using the same backup I just did. Once the phone is restored I paired the Watch with the iPhone and selected Restore from Backup instead of Set Up as a New Watch. Once this was done I went to the Activity App on the Watch and set it up with the information it asked for. As soon as this was done the Watch Activity App started to sent information the the iPhone immediately. I did lose all historical information stored on the iPhone Activity App but at least it is now working again.
I chatted with apple support and the dude told me to unpair and repair my watch so i did and i restored it with my last back up but that didn't work and the it still wasn't syncing but when i checked the activity app on my watch all my saved data was gone. I had just completed my first day with my watch and went around the rings 3+ times and got a new achievement. All my hard work gone thanks to my man Des in tech support.
