How can I stop my screen from typing and jumping to different screens without me touching it?

How can I stop my screen from typing and jumping to different screens without me touching it?
iPad Air, iOS 8.1.2
First try a reset of the iPad. No data will be lost. To reset the device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
If that doesn't work, try this. Reset all settings. Once again, you will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. The device will reboot on its own so don't be alarmed when that happens.
