My Apple Warrenty has expired

My Apple Warranty/Hardware Warranty has expired... Now I can't receive calls (I get no notification that someone is calling me WHEN someone IS calling me). My mother and sister can be sitting right next to me, call me, & my phone will not ring. BUT I get voicemails. Will I have to pay out of pocket to fix whatever is wrong?
