iPad lost WiFi connection; no longer gives options for WiFi (remains grey and will not slide). Have reset network connections, turned off both iPad and router to reboot each, still no response. Please help!

My iPad lost its Wifi connection after working fine for two years. I have rebooted both the iPad and the router. I have reset the network connections. All other devices work fine using this Wifi. The Wifi option remains grey and will not slide on the iPad, preventing me from even trying to reconnect to the network. Please help!
