Hi guys,
I am using Mail to send messages with attachments. Once those are really large (>100 Mbyte), Mail automatically uses MailDrop to upload those to iCloud, so that the recipient can easily download it independent from its mailserver limits.
Is there a way to force Mail to use MailDrop also for small attachments (e.g. 5, 10 Mbyte)? Because there are still many mail servers who have really small file size limits.

Hi, I tried this (10.11) using both Terminal commands on that OSX daily article and comments...sadly, no joy. In fact, even when sending >20mb it still didn't invoke Maildrop.
To be clear...
. logged into iCloud
. using IMAP account
. maildrop pref in Mail Prefs for that account ticked (I toggled it in a TOTO sort of way too)
and no joy.
..and doesn't work from my iCloud mail account, on Mac. Though it does seems to work (without dialogue) from iCloud mail account accessed at iCloud.com
james' tip worked for me on Sierra. But only for the first message sent after invoking the terminal command. After that it defaulted back.
