Getting a panic (memory leak) restart once a day

Using a MacPro (early 2008, dual quad Intel CPUs), 10GB RAM, 1TB SanDisk SSD, and 10.10.3. Restarts occur when I am away from the computer for several hours and sometimes while using any program, but sometimes mail. I have run with a CCC backed-up HDD, with the same results. RAM has been tested OK using the Membr program. Runs slower since upgrade to 10.10.2. Highest process is "distnoted" running about 200% CPU. I have reset the NVRAM and replaced the logic board battery - no change.

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Early 2008 Intel

Hi Linc

I'm having the same problem as listed above. Mid 2012 Mac Pro running 10.8.5.

If I catch it before the system crashes & pull up activity monitor, the two highest processor intesive tasks are both called 'installer'. If I force quit them in time, I can work for many hours, but then the whole issue repeats.

Also, when I open disc utility, there are always 2x .dmg files mounted with 6 character names (the 6 characters are always different). They will not unmount, & their sub names are 'installer'.

Can you help? This is my work machine, & it's very bad when this happens with clients around!

Thanks in advance..

Dave
