Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.

When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.

There's a way to simulate events in Photos.

When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder

When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.

The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.

You can simplify this a bit by selecting all the photos in the Last Import album (command + A is the quickest way) & then clicking on the large + icon in the toolbar at the top of the window. If I understand you correctly R C-R, I need to manually reorder the Events in the sidebar to get them into chronological order again?

I tried creating a folder hoping I could put Events in it and somehow circumvent the reverse chronology but it didn't work. Did I do something wrong or is it not possible to move Events into a Folder?

Unfortunately you can't, I wish you could because I would have chosen to stay with iPhoto. iPhoto is no longer accessible after the upgrade to 10.10.3.

Thanks for that. Now, all of my photos were imported in Photos automatically. If I delete iPhoto and reinstall it from the App Store will my photos automatically be there as they were before I upgraded to 10.10.3? Will I lose the way the photos were in iPhoto or will it re-establish itself as it was?
