SMS delayed on iPhone, but shows on Mac

When I receive an SMS (not an iMessage), it shows right away in iMessage on the Mac. On the iPhone it can take up to 30 seconds for the same message to show up. Given that the SMS is actually received by the iPhone and forwarded via Bluetooth to the Mac, I find this very strange.

Apparently the SMS is received on the iPhone, but the iMessage app delays the message for whatever reason.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

The phone is an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.3; The Mac an 2014 Mac Mini with MacOS 10.10.3

Hello tinue,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are able to send and receive both types of messages but the sms messages are slow. I would recommend that you read this article, this article talks about not being able to send but there are other steps that may be able to help.

If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  1. Restart your device.
  2. Check for a carrier settings update.
  3. Check for an iOS software update.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Have a nice day,
