how do i text an android phone from my ipad mini

This worked! I was banging my head trying to figure it out. I also found out how to call from my iPad and mac when my iPhone isn't around me by enabling wifi calling on my iPad and mac though a setting on my iPhone. This is awesome!

I'm sure you've noticed by now that the information you've provided is not accurate. We all know that iPads are not iPhones but nevertheless they can easily be optioned to send/receive android text messages.

A special THANKS to JAZCAN for her simple, concise, instructions on how to enable this handy feature. It really comes in handy when texting our non Apple friends until they move up to iPhone!

After all I had did with iMessage, and everything else in deleting settings, this was the one thing I did not do. Its the simple stuff we always overlook.

You cannot text on a ipad only imessage from one apple device to other apple device .

Text message service is run by mobile phone network providers.

I do not see an option for a phone number, which my ipad does have.

IN my case I only had to follow your basic instructions. On iPhone settings all I did was enable text message forwarding to my ipad. A code popped up, i entered it and I was good to go!! Thanks!
