PC GAMES ON INTEL MACS??? Is it possible?

Is it possible to play PC games on an intel mac yet? In theory it should work since you can run it as a PC. I want to play that Battlefield 2142 game very badly.

Please tell if you know it's possible. Thanks.

Yes,

Destroy the massive Mac game market, who port games
from Windows 2 to 3 years after the PC release.

I'm running BF2 on my iMac and the whole XP thing
runs flawlessly. I'm sorry but Apple has addressed
this issue and came up with the following solution:

Boot Camp

I never said it was massive, and i'm not a n00b, i know everything about apple, bootcamp has been out for months, so why remind me, and i think 2-3 years is the biggest overstatement I've ever heard, even more than the G5 was fast, 6 months is more close

And what happens when people buy software that comes out on windows before mac eventually the mac developers will get fed up and stop developing, the Cult of mac is slowly Disappearing, apple doesn't have the loyal supporters it once had

If you're going to run a PC Game on a Mac, first I'd advise you to find out if the game is compatible with Mac, some great games like Warcraft 3 and the whole Blizzard game library since Starcraft offer an OS X installer that you can download from Battle.net, other large publishers have begun doing this as well, Domm 3, Half-Life 2, Call Of Duty 2, all run on Mac. However, there a some games that will most likely miss Mac, EA for example has never done a game for Mac, their latest C&C Generals was ported some 2 years after it's release for windows, also C&C 3 Tiberium Wars will be PC-only. Go here for more info http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ to find out what it is, and then here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303572 for instructions on how to install it.

Parallels is getting closer, but for a real gamer Boot Camp is the only way to fly right now. No OpenGL support yet in Parallels AFAIK, and Boot Camp (make sure to use the very latest version if you have a brand new Core2Duo Mac) does have the right windows drivers. Boot Camp only will install Windows XP from a single service pack 2 disc (the version currently for sale at retail). You DO have to authenticate your Windows XP installation - an Intel Mac in Boot Camp IS a PC. And you also have to install your own anti virus, anti spyware, anti phishing, etc. etc. etc.

I tried Cross Over the other day and to my enjoyment it started installing Call of Duty right off the windows disc. The only problem was when the Call of Duty installer asked for the second disc, I couldn't get the first to eject without first quitting Cross Over, which stops the installation. The program is still in early beta, but I have very high hopes for it.

You know everything about Apple?

That's amazing, but you should at least try to do a tiny bit of research before making crazy statements. Mac ports are a minimum of 2 years behind the PC release and I'm afraid not as you say "more close" (You wouldn't happen to be related to Borat, per chance)?

Battlefield 1942 was released for PC in 2002, ported and released for Mac in 2004. Here is a link that will give you a timeline, I love how they list the Mac release under the "Milestone" section.

Sadly, Apple has never paid much attention to gaming and Mac game software has reflected that, unless you happen to be a huge fan of Tetris which has matured incredibly as a Mac game cornerstone.
