Finder reports too much disk space

2014 Retina MacBook Pro, 13", 256GB SSD.

As recently as yesterday, the Finder showed the correct about of space remaining on my hard drive (about 104GB out of 256GB). I can see this value in the status bar of any Finder window (at the bottom) or in the Get Info window for the hard drive.

Today, it reports that I have 140TB free. Wow. Obviously, that cannot be true.

I ran Disk Utility to Verify Disk - all good.

I ran DaisyDisk to report on space - it reports correct numbers.

Restarted the Mac - no change.

Any clues out there? This isn't hurting anything, but it's worrisome.
