Sound diatorted after installing Windows 8.1?

I just recently got my Macintosh completely formatted by Apple due to the OS being destroyed. So what I first did was install Windows 8.1 using Boot camp Assistant. The support software failed to install the first time so I found support software online and installed it. I was finally able to control my sound and brightness. Here's the strange part. I went over to my Mac side again...the sound was TERRIBLE! It sounds all staticy sometimes. When it isn't staticy then it's distorted. To make sure my speakers didn't blow or anything I switched back to Windows. The sound sounces completely normal! Does anyone know why my Macintosh partition sound is distorted?

I just tried to reset my computer's PRAM, and it worked!

Until I switched over to Windows again. Once I switched back, it was even worse. Why is Windows destroying my sound quality? 😕

1. Are BC drivers installed?

2. Do you have any unknown devices (yellow triangles and exclamation marks) in Control Panel -> Hardware -> Device Manager?

3. Is the sound distorted on all output devices - headphone, internal speakers, etc.?

4. Do you have a faint red glow in you output jack?

5. What year/model is your MBA?

Boot Camp drivers are installed. Although the first attempt failed, when I downloaded the recommended Boot Camp software for my computer it succeeded.

I think the sound is distorted on all output devices in the Macintosh partition. When I switch to Windows it's clear.

WHat is MBA?

MBA is Macbook Air. What year/model is your Mac?

Can you Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support and test your Sound on both OSX and Windows?

The Model Identifier is MacBookAir6,1

...Oh! I found a System Information. It contains the audio information too!

Not sure if that helped...I'll try to switch to Windows and back again and then take a look.

It's not giving me the model number...

I'll try Resetting the SMC on my computer

Yay! Thank you so much Loner! It fixed the audio! Even after I flipped between Windows and Macintosh my sound never lost it's quality after Resetting the SMC! Finally I can listen to music without cringing!

Excellent. SMC Reset rebuilds your System Volume DB information.
