My iPod Touch 4 is disabled
My iPod Touch 4 shows "disabled, connect to iTunes" but iTunes tells me to enter my passcode on the iPod. The home button is broken, so how do I restore/recover?
iPod touch, iOS 6

Use the method specified here to place the iPod i Recovery mode:
Turn on without Home/Power Button
Or
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
The iCloud find my phone did not pull up my device, so it must not be registered. I downloaded the RecBoot, but all it seemed to do was install a VLC Media player & a bunch of pop-ups/cookies. Did I do something wrong? Where is the screen to click on "enter recovery mode"?
Make an appointment at the genius bar and get it fixed/replaced.
