Call History showing up on another iPhone

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

[Re-Titled by Moderator]

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

Yes me is two separate people with different names, numbers and emails. Why would I create a separate accounts when we have had iPhones for 5 years with no problems before? This thread is on page 126 on my phone, that has been mentioned ad nauseum. I want the phones to work like they have the last 5 years.

I mean no disrespect with that response and feel that logic is correct right here, reality however not entirely. And then again I can not find info anywhere that iPhone is an actual phone and mac book air is an actual computer. At least not directly from Apple. So for the time being I intend to agree with you, until Apple tells me that iPhone is an actual phone - I will stop making calls. Looked over all of the specifications and the word phone only exists in one of the green apps named like that.

I will reiterate. My statement was only that Apple have not confirmed this is a bug. They have not confirmed it is a feature. Arguing the toss helps no body.

EDIT - and that is aimed at everybody who claims it is one or another, not just you 🙂

Bob, there are no prizes on offer, do it as you wish, I won't follow your lead as I have no problems with IOS or iCloud.

So do as you wish.

I HAVE A SUGGESTION

Go to Apple's site and look at every single word they have ever written regarding the iPhone and IOS. Take a look at any of the materials which came with your iPhone. Download the manual for your iPhone. Pay special attention to the sections on Family Sharing, and Continuity, and Handoff and iCloud and iCloud Drive. If you find anything which speaks of the terrific NEW feature where those who have more than one iPhone on the same Apple ID now have the convenience of all of your call logs on one phone appearing on the other - please report back here immediately and tell us where it can be found.

On the other hand, read again every single post in this thread and search, with appropriate search terms, all of the other threads on every public forum in the universe which is Apple specific, and look for posts from people like myself. The post might likely be along the lines of - "hey, what happened, I've had my business phone and personal phone on one Apple ID for years (because I am ONE PERSON) and all of a sudden my all logs are appearing on the other phone." They might go on to explain how it is a great inconvenience as they now have a more difficult time in keeping personal life and business life separate. When reading these posts try and figure out why the poster would go on an Apple specific public forum and ask for help with what they perceive as problem.

If after doing this you still believe this is a FEATURE which is designed by Apple and therefore a very good thing, come back here ONE MORE TIME! Write your findings in this post and then, please leave this message thread and never return! This message thread is for people who think the duplicative call logs are a problem and a bug, and are here looking for answers. My mailbox is inundated with posts from people who offer no solutions, but simply want to beat others over the head because they have a different conclusion then those of us looking for answers.

What "untrue allegation" was made by the poster? That he called Apple UK and was given certain information that you didn't like?

>> Is it really necessary for you to constantly throw out insults?

You and others basically call him a liar and defame him, now you think I'm insulting you by pointing this out. Really!

Proof now and again would be nice, proof of anything you say would be an improvement. Proof rather than unsubstantiated nonsense.

I met your uncle the other day. He was in a 7-11.

What kind of "answer" would suit you? Because there is only one answer that is correct here: Send your Feedback to Apple.

No one can say one way or the other as to whether this is a bug or a feature, since nobody from Apple is participating here. So, if you are looking for an answer, that is the one and only answer that can be given since we are just users like you. Everything else is opinion - a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

You have no more insight into what this is than we do, and just as you will not find anything in any of the manuals or update material discussing this as a feature, you will also not find anything in any documentation discussing this as a bug.

The passion expressed by people on this thread regarding their opinion about what is going on here in no way legitimizes either opinion, nor does it render the other side of the argument as moot.

We had a user who contacted Apple and was derided here.

Which shows your ignorance of the software business. When a program returns different results under the same settings, it's a bug. Really. Honestly. We don't need a written affidavit from the vendor saying this. And a customer service representative does represent the company to the end user contrary to what is posted here. Can they be mistaken? Sure, but they are the best and many times the only window into the company from the end user perspective. Even the CEO can be mistaken! But they have access to resources the end user does not have. In Apple's case, even reporting a bug puts one under strict disclosure agreements and cannot be revealed so your criteria for a valid bug is totally meaningless since no bug would be valid until fixed.
