Call History showing up on another iPhone

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

[Re-Titled by Moderator]

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

Yes me is two separate people with different names, numbers and emails. Why would I create a separate accounts when we have had iPhones for 5 years with no problems before? This thread is on page 126 on my phone, that has been mentioned ad nauseum. I want the phones to work like they have the last 5 years.

So, if you are looking for an answer, that is the one and only answer that can be given since we are just users like you. Everything else is opinion - a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

What I am looking for is for people to stop coming to this forum and telling those who are distressed by the calls logs to stop telling them - TOO BAD - IT IS A FEATURE - GET A 2nd APPLE ID OR A DIFFERENT PHONE!! That is not helpful.

I do not disagree with you that the discussion has devolved into a bashing match which is neither productive nor helpful. And, beyond the fact that there are two different opinions about what this is all about, and that there are many people who simply do no like it, whatever it is, it has also become pointless.

Best of luck,

GB

Well, guess what. You are NOT going to get what you're looking for here. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You claim to be a lawyer... guess what. You lost. Deal with it.

That is what amazes me about this thread - the purpose is supposed to be to help folks. But some people are so full of themselves that they could care less how their comments are helping - just as long as they appear right. And I will make a prediction: when Apple fixes the problem and posts it to the change log of a future release, there will be some folks here who will continue to argue. My latest purpose on this thread was to find out if others had the problem fixed with 9.2.1. And when one poster said it was fixed for them, they were derided. And when I reported it was fixed on my phone, I was also dismissed. And when another person reported a conversation with Apple on the issue who confirmed it was a bug, this was also dismissed with derision. And yet they offered no evidence to the contrary showing that the truth of the situation was immaterial to their being right. I posted ways that that the community could help and was told that the method I posted is already used. Guess what, that hasn't been my experience and I suspect the experience of most folks who visit this thread. That's the state of things here... its sad for a community that says it prides itself on helping people. I just hope that this thread is not representative of all threads in this community. And if any moderator is reading, I hope they pay heed...

Unfortunately you don't get to pick who posts what. Or whether you post 🙂 it's all voluntary

>> I will reiterate. My statement was only that Apple have not confirmed this is a bug. They have not confirmed it is a feature. Arguing the toss helps no body.

The proof is that it works differently for folks with the same settings. In my case, there were identical settings that only worked when 9.2.1 was installed. That's what a software bug is.

The way treating it as a bug could help is for folks to contact Apple and point this inconsistent behavior out. The problem with feedback is that Apple won't respond to it. However, if you take the time and register as a software developer (it's free and no additional information need to be provided except check off acceptance of Apple terms of nondisclosure), you can file a bug report. Since I no longer experience this problem with 9.2.1, I can't really report the bug. But for those still experiencing the problem, I encourage you to take a few minutes and report it.

>> Obviously not including you if you think that that defines a "bug."

You seem to like to argue with tautologies - not very useful.

>> Incidentally, you don't want to hear my technical background.

Obviously you know how to spell the word. But until I see written proof of your technical background, it doesn't exist as has been claimed by you and others in this thread.

I was an engineer on the Apollo moon landing program and, in fact, Mr. Armstrong took my signature to the moon.

What's your background, sonny, other than being a soda jerk? Obviously it's not technical if you believe "The proof is that it works differently for different folks with the same settings. That's what a software bug is."
