Can read receipts be wrong?
Is it possible for an iMessage to be sent, delivered, and a read receipt be shown but the message was never seen by the other person?

I doubt this would ever happen. It will only say it has been read if it has.
Although some people think that just because it says "Read" it means the other person has actually read it. For it to say "Read" it just means the person has opened up their screen on that iMessage, they may not have actually necessarily read the words in the text, but they have definitely seen that it's there đ
Hope this helped đ
My friend say that she she never even got the messages I sent her but on my phone it said that she read them. (Maybe that better explains what I'm asking)
It was most certainly delivered to her (assuming you have the correct phone number or email address) and it was opened. Whether she read it, or someone else did and deleted it, there is no way of telling.
Maybe you are sending the messages to the wrong person. Check with her that you are using the right email/phone number.
Sure wish I would have thought of that possibility.
I'm sure it's the right number. She gets half my messages but not the rest
Oh, ok. Well I don't know what it could be. Maybe if you have text message forwarding enabled sending the messages to one of your other devices, that could be your problem.
If not, I am unsure what your problem may be, "deggie" may be able to help you with this one.
