Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Why do I keep seeing this message after I partition my disk for Windows 7 and reboot to continue to the installation? " No bootable device found - - please insert a bootable device and press any key to continue "

First, I read the article in the Boot Camp Support area and gathered the materials necessary for the installation.

Second, I watched several videos on how to install Windows 7, using boot camp assistant, (specifically for MacBook Pro 13 inch 2012 model)

Lastly, I followed each step necessary for completing the installation; I purchased a windows 7 professional 64-bit SP 1 software pack from an online store, then I downloaded the .ISO file that came with the purchase. Then I opened up Boot Camp Assistant and did the following; I installed the .ISO file on a USB so I could use this to install windows 7 in future steps, I downloaded the 5.1.2 Boot Camp Support software from this website, then I partitioned my disk. After that, I rebooted my computer and then the BSOD appeared.

I have Mavericks and my software is up to date. I do not understand what the issue is, may someone assist me? I would greatly appreciate it.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Alright I am getting extremely frustrated with this 😟. All I am going to say is. I have the .ISO on my USB 2.0 16GB and I installed it on there from BCA. I also know how to partition my disk through BCA and it works fine. It is the software I am troubled with. Now, I downloaded the Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5621 .. For my Macbook Mid 2012 13 inch. Do I drag it to the USB with the Windows 7 .ISO in it? Also, X11 finally loaded up and I am now on a window with things I dont know what to do with. Could you send me pictures of how to use this step-by-step. I am really exhausted. I am trying to get window 7 installed by Monday. P.S. Pictures for the dummy XD

Im lost on how to do the DiskN thing you was telling me to do.

Here is an example. The 'N' is '2' as you can see in the following example. The sudo command will prompt for password, which will not be echoed back to you.

Okay I think its good. I am going to run it. One last thing.. If It works and I get Windows 7 successfully installed. Will I lose any files, music, projects, plug-ins, and photos on my Macintosh HD Disk partition? I know that throughout many tutorial videos, and on the Boot Camp Support page, it recommends backing up my disk on an external hard drive. If that is so, then if I don't am I likely to lose everything?

Why do I keep seeing this message after I partition my disk for Windows 7 and reboot to continue to the installation? " No bootable device found - - please insert a bootable device and press any key to continue "
