Help, my Macbook Air won't charge

Hello, over the past week i noticed my laptop isn't at all charging.

When the power chord is plugged in the battery bar turns black and says the power source is from the adapter and isn't charging the computer at all. I am stumped on what is wrong, this is a continuous problem with my laptop cut usually doesn't last this long without charging/working.

the chord is in good condition, the port where the charger connects is clear, no pins are stuck. It is becoming frustrating.

MacBook Air, iOS 8.1.2

You could try troubleshooting the battery, but it may be the charger itself. I would try an SMC reset first, as sometimes that can help resolve these types of issues. Then, I would look over the 'All About Batteries' article, and see if anything there might help. If nothing seems to work, try running the diagnostics to see if it's the battery. If it isn't, it's probably the charger.
