Lost/Mis-placed iPad(4th gen)

Hi,

I think I mis-placed or lost my iPad.

I had thought I left it in the office, but if I did, then it should be on office wifi and I should be able to find it on iCloud. But I might have dropped or left it at a car park -(I hope not) because I can not reach it using 'find my ipad' app. I have a serial number, what do I do? I want to check the office and office car park tomorrow before reporting it. Any other ways I can do to have some peace of mind for the next 10 hours? I don't wanna wipe its contents just yet as I might find it..please assist.
