I just got a new I phone and use ATT. My friend wants my old I phone but uses another service provider. can this be done from one service provider to another?

I just got a new I Phone. My friend would like my old I Phone but we have different service providers. Can he change the phone to his provider?

Your cellular provider that you used for the old phone must first unlock it before your friend could use it. And, it would depend on what cellular provider your friend will use and if they support an unlocked iPhone.
