I Could temporarily rectify it by uninstalling & reinstalling Google search, but now I'm having difficulties reinstalling Google. Also IPhone 4s. If this kind of thing continues, I'm switching to an Android phone

Am having the same problem, cannot type search text. Is this an Google or Apple (or me) issue ?
